In 2021 a Bahamian company, Compass Power, designed and installed a massive 4 MW solar panel system with 10 MW batteries on Chub Cay. This was paid for by a private investor who has now been able to shut down the entire diesel power plant and eliminate Chub Cay's dependence on foreign oil. Hint Hint BPL!!! Imagine if our government was serious about energy independence.
